POPULAR TECHNO IP68 CONNECTOR RANGE FOR HEAVY DUTY ENVIRONMENTS EXPANDS FURTHER

In particular, when it comes to lighting applications in environments where mechanical requirements are high and environmental conditions challenging, Techno pulls out all the stops to continue to fulfil its role as a specialist.
IP68 CONNECTOR RANGE LIGHTS UP THE STREETS OF ROME
Techno has already used the IP68 connector range TH405/TH406 on numerous occasions in the switch from traditional bulbs to LED street lighting. This is also the case in Rome, where multiservice company Acea has equipped the capital's streets with LED lighting using the TH405/TH406 connectors.
EXTENSION OF 8-POLE IP68 CONNECTOR FOR HEAVY-DUTY APPLICATIONS
The IP68 connector range offers an appropriate solution for really heavy-duty applications too. In addition to the existing 2 to 6-pole connectors, Techno has recently expanded the TH405/TH406 range to include an 8-pole version. This is in view of demanding lighting applications in industrial areas where climatic conditions, such as high humidity and extreme temperatures, are an important factor.
This new 8-pole TH405/TH406 connector is perfectly able to cope in heavy-duty environments and is also a favourite among electricians. Its key features are:
- IP68 protection rating.
- Bayonet locking system with a safety lock, which can only be unlocked using a tool.
- The housing is modular with 2 to 8-pole inserts.
- The 8-pole TH405/TH406 connector is suitable for 10A applications up to 400V in alternating current. The 2 to 6-pole connectors can handle up to 25A/400V.
- Compact design. Saves as much as 60% on space compared with other solutions, such as the IEC309 industrial connectors.
- Easy to install screw version, can be used with cables with an outside diameter of up to 13.5mm.
- Very high resistance to UV rays (index F1, according to the UL746C standard) and resistant to extreme temperatures and corrosion resulting from external factors.
- The 3 and 5-pole waterproof connectors are also UL and CSA certified for the USA and Canada.
